KRISTI YAMAGUCHI
1992 Olympic gold medal winner Kristi Yamaguchi was inducted into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame Jan. 9 1998. She is one of my favorite female athletes. A few other skaters that I enjoy include Scott Hamilton ; Michelle Kwan ; Dorothy Hamil ; Brian Boitano ; Oksana Biaul and more.

Kristi was born in Hayward, Ca. July 12, 1971 to Jim and Carole Yamaguchi. She also has a brother Brett and a sister Lori. Her role models include Debi Thomas; Dorothy Hamil and Tiffany Chin. She is coached by Christy Kjarsgaard-Ness.

She won first place in the World Junior Pairs Championship in 1988 with former partner Rudy Galindo. As a single she won first place at the Goodwill Games and Skate America in 1990. After turning professional she won the World Professional Championship in 1993 and 1995.
She can often be seen on tours like Discover "Stars On Ice" with many other great skaters. A great role model; Kristi continues to support the Always Dream Foundation ; Skates in the Park and other events concerning children. She is a "special lady"; and will always be my favorite skater.
